TWU/AFA CyberCamp 2018 Invites Applicants from Local High Schools

Students entering 9-12 grades in the fall are invited to apply to participate in the Texas Woman’s University and Air Force Association (AFA) TWU/AFA CyberCamp, which will take place on the TWU Denton campus June 18 - 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.

All accepted applicants will need to send a non-refundable fee in the amount of $10.00 to the TWU Cybercamp program within 2 weeks of acceptance notification. An accepted applicant who does not send the non-refundable fee on time will forfeit the seat and the seat will be re-assigned to other applicants on the waiting list. Details about payment information will be included in the acceptance notification.

Interested student must apply to the program by May 4. Preference will be given to first-time applicants.

Only 36 will be selected to participate in the camp, so those interested are encouraged to apply now. Developed by the AFA and sponsored by the TWU Office of Technology, the TWU/AFA CyberCamp is targeted toward beginners in cybersecurity. No previous experience or training is required. The camp will emphasize fun, hands-on learning of cybersecurity principles that are relevant and applicable to everyday life. Each day of camp will cover new topics and activities, building up to a final team competition simulating real cybersecurity situations faced by industry professionals.
