Pearson Wins Scholarship

PHS 2019 graduate Aubrey Pearson has been named as the recipient of a $10,000 scholarship through the FFA, sponsored by the Fort Worth Stock Show.

Students Earn Awards at Area Convention

Paradise FFA traveled to Clyde for the Area Convention on May 13. Area Officer Aubrey Pearson received her retiring plaque and new Area Officer Gracie Oates was installed. Tres Pennington and Danae Meadows, our District Officers served on the Courtesy Corp and helped run the convention. Our public speakers competed in the Area round of competition. Here are the results:

Paradise also picked up our District Banners from the fall LDE Season, and 12 of the 13 teams that were trained received a top 4 Banner in their catagories.

Students Participate in Area Convention

On May 13, a group of Paradise FFA students attended the Area IV FFA Convention in Clyde. Several Paradise students competed in the speaking contest and interviewed for scholarships. Here are the Paradise students that attended:

Horse Judging Team Finishes Sixth in State

LUBBOCK-On April 27, the Paradise Horse Judging team finished sixth at the State competition. The team consisted of Emily Stephens, Mallory Anderson, Laramie Dearing, and Avery Cota.

Students Win Awards at District Contest

At the Oil Belt District contest, three members of Paradise FFA won first place plaques. Gracie Oates was first in Senior Prepared Public Speaking-Natural Resources, Clint Demmitt was first in Senior Extemporaneous Speaking, and Jacie Pennington was first in Junior Prepared Public Speaking.

Dustin Meadows and Candice Green placed third in the Talent Show.

Paradise Students Elected to Officer Positions

Gracie Oates has been elected to an Area IV Officer Position, Tres Pennington was elected to the Oil Belt District President, and Danae Meadows to Oil Belt District Secretary.

Pearson is AgYouth of the Month

PHS Senior Aubrey Pearson has been selected as one of the AgTexas Farm Credit Services AgYouth of the month for April 2019.

Green Chosen for FFA Chorus

PHS sophomore Candice Green has been selected to the Texas FFA Chorus that will perform at the 90th Annual Texas FFA Convention in July. It is the second consecutive year that Candice has been chosen.

Three Named to WCYF Board

PHS students Clint Demmitt, Tres Pennington and Laramie Dearing were chosen to represent Paradise FFA and 4H on the Wise County Youth Fairs newly-formed Junior Board of Directors for 2019.

Paradise Wins Livestock Judging at Fort Worth

On January 19, Paradise FFA had the winning Livestock Judging team at the Fort Worth Stock Show. Dustin and Danae Meadows were the top two individuals.
