Band Booster Meeting March 11
The next band booster meeting will be on Thursday, March 11 in the band hall at 6:30 pm. We will be finalizing details for our Donkey Basketball Game.

Donkey Basketball is Coming!
Donkey basketball will be here Friday, March 26 at 7:00 at the old High School Gym. Advance tickets are on sale now at all campus offices. Advance tickets are $6.00, at the door they will be $8.00. Concessions will be available...including BBQ!! Come out and have fun while supporting your Panther High School Band!
Band Makes Good Marks at Solo and Ensemble
GAINESVILLE-On Saturday, February 6, several Paradise Band students participated in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest in Gainesville. Our students all did an excellent job preparing for this contest and are to be commended for their hard work.
Paradise High School students earning a performance rating of "Good" on their solos were Aaron Gilbert - trumpet solo, and Cienna McMurry - baritone solo.
Paradise Junior High students earning a performance rating of "Excellent" were: Cami Gonzalez - flute, Stacy Fernandez - trumpet, Drew Carter - tuba, Daniel Alexander - trumpet, Colton Unger - French horn, and Angela Powers - saxophone. Paradise High School students earning a performance rating of "Excellent" on their solos include: Kalynn Mann - flute, Dakota Gage - flute, Kaelyn McCormick - flute, Briar Mobley - clarinet, Gabriel Silvas - trumpet, Kayla Acklie - trombone, Sabino Fernandez - trombone, Taylor Dickens - trombone, Wesley Meadows - baritone, and Macklin McAllister - snare drum.
Paradise Junior High students who earned a performance rating of "Superior" were: Shawnia Jones - flute, McKenna Bates - saxophone, Brandon McCutchen - saxophone, Trevor Shuka - saxophone, Janee McMurry - clarinet, Hailey Horne - clarinet, Jessica Meeks - clarinet, Allison Rutledge - clarinet, Brandon McCormick - trombone, Lyndon Cook - tuba, Levi Jenkins - tuba, Chance Dial - trumpet, Colby Dial - mallet percussion, and Mary Reid - saxophone. The students from Paradise High School who earned a performance rating of "Superior" on their solos were: Sophia Delgadillo - clarinet, MacKinzie Paschall - clarinet, Taylor Bates - saxophone, Ashley Gilbert - saxophone, Alec Bennington - French horn, Kyle Perryman - trombone, Eric Walker - tuba, Jacob Owens - tuba, Taylor Rutledge - tuba, and Cole Dement - snare drum.
Special congratulations go to Alec Bennington and Kyle Perryman who played their Class I solos by memory. Their "Superior" ratings qualified them to advance to the State Solo and Ensemble contest which will be held at Texas State University in San Marcos at the end of May.
All of these students did an outstanding job representing Paradise ISD. One of our judges commented that our students were all polite and well-mannered. Each student spent time above and beyond band class requirements preparing the solos. Congratulations, Paradise Band students!

Two Students Participate at ATSSB Auditions
Saturday, Panther Band seniors Taylor Dickens and Alec Bennington attended Area Band in Argyle to audition for the ATSSB All-State Band. Taylor and Alec are to be commended for their hard work and achievement. Taylor placed 12th in Area Trombone and Alec placed 4th in Area French Horn.
Alec has earned the opportunity to represent Paradise ISD and perform with the ATSSB All-State Band in a concert to be presented at the annual Texas Music Educations Association convention which will be held in San Antonio in February. This is the highest honor a Texas Band Student can achieve. Congratulations, Alec!

Seventh Grade Band Performs at Last Ball Game

PARADISE-At the last halftime show of the season, the seventh grade band joined the PHS band on the field for a rendition of Rock and Roll Part II (aka the "Hey" song).

Band Earns Highest Rating, Advances to Area

DENTON-On October 17 the PHS marching band competed in the UIL marching contest at C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton. Paradise earned a Division I rating, which is Superior. As a result, Paradise will march in the area competition.
